Basalt Rebar for superior strength

We have a great interest in the inclusion of alternative products throughout our manufacturing process as well as a keen focus on lowering the carbon intensity of our units where possible. Where products and joins need extra strength, especially around lifting eyes and attachment points, rebar can be used to add strength, rigidity and redistribute weight evenly. However, conventional rebar can present issues within marine applications due to lack of tolerance to temperature fluctuations, rusting and is expensive to ship due to its weight.

Basalt rebar is a rock composite alternative to metal solutions and outperforms conventional rebar in overall strength, weight, and user safety, as it does not conduct electricity or rust. As such, it is suited for marine environments and will retain its strength even if the material it is embedded within erodes and exposes it, a common concern for our coastal based clients. Basalt rebar is light weight for simple handling and shipping, leading to a lower carbon footprint.

By using these alternative products, our clients can create and maintain structures which have been developed with nature inclusivity in mind while providing superior coastal protection.
